In experimenting with novel intelligence tools on smart glasses, testing and deployment was significantly held back due to the lack of physical and social acceptability of current off-the-shelf smart glasses. The closed-source nature of these devices also make them difficult to develop for and extend. This was the impetus to create a lightweight, hackable, open source smart glasses for intelligence augmentation research.
